sounds
like an artist name – but it’s his real name. That there’s an real aritst
behind it answers his music. Born in 1979 the swiss-based south-Italian puts
all his temperament into his vocation and that’s not only heard by the
party-crowd. Everybody listening to his sound quickly realices his honest
passion.
Roberto was always fascinated by the clubscene, probably because of his father
who was the owner of the legendary “TIVOLINO” nightclub in the mid-eighties, which
he visited the first time at the early age of 6. As a teenager inspired by the
sounds Boris Dlugosch, Mousse T. and Brian Tappert, Roberto started to work the
turntables and collected his first DJ-experinces in 1995 at the age of 16.
Due to his convincing House-Sets with influences of Soul and Disco-Funk Roberto
soon was invited to play at various Swiss and international top-clubs, such as
the “Pravda“ (Luzern, Switzerland), “Kaufleuten“ (Zürich, Switzerlan), “Studio“
and „Airport“ (Würzburg, Germany), Nachtcafé (Darmstadt, Germany), “Republic
Café“ (Salzburg, Austria), “Lazareti“ (Dubrovnik, Kroatia) or the Delano
(Miami, USA). Roberto always stayed true to his motto – “Only Soulful Music”.
With his precise technique and his inimitable sound with a touch of Soul, Jazz
and Latino, he get’s every location into the right positive mood.

In 2000 Roberto started to produce in his own RDC-Studio. Already two years
later he worked in several projects and with different musicians. In 2003 he
released his first official remix under the project-name “Souldrops” on the
top-label “Purple Music”. Followed by two own productions in 2004 “Freedom”
together with the “house-diva from Brooklyn” Inaya Day and the first “One Touch
- Ready?!“ single together with “The Soul Voice“ Colin Corvez Rich from the
“Peppermint Jam” imprint. It was the same year when GOGO Music released Roberto
De Carlo’s remix of “Seek - Everafter”.
2005 was a much promising year for the artist. The collaboration with one of
the leading labels of the soulful house scene GOGO Music got closer and Roberto
released the club-hit single “Roberto De Carlo feat. Joshua – Soulful things”
on this imprint. It was licensed to several compilations including the
“Connected” series of Jay-J on Defected. Next to “Soulful things” two hot
remixes (“Toni Sea & Ralf GUM - Beautiful” and “Inaya Day & Dennis Le
Gree - Try me”) have been released by GOGO Music.
In the year 2006 Roberto De Carlo produced the second “One Touch” single “Live
your Life”, sung by Sharlene Hector. The track was released on Purple Music and
was instandly taken on the WAX WARS compilation (Defected, Soulfuric, Purple
Music). On GOGO Music followed “Magic Star” which was remixed by Simon Grey
amongst others. “Magic Star” repeated the great success of the first single
“Soulful things”. Next to a bunch of positive feedback and various compilation
licensings, it convinced as well Tony Humphries who used it on his Masterclass
Vol. 2 Compilation (Mn2S) and Ministry of Sound (Australia) took it for their
“Chillout Sessions 10” CD. For the Swiss label Label Digital Funk Records
Roberto produced „R + M featuring Malena - Ave Pasajera“, which received
remixed by Richard Earnshaw. In collaboration with Steven Stone was created the
production “Believe”, which was licensed by Soultonic and will be released End
of of November 06. Next to his own productions Roberto made two high quality
remixes in 2006. For GOGO Music he remixed “Miami Theme“ by RAW ARTISTIC SOUL
and for UK’s Audiowhores he reworked the first Tempogroove single “Not going
Back“ featuring Pete Simpson.
